Toronto’s Annual Check-Up!
Vital Signs is a community report card created by the Toronto Community Foundation to measure issues that are important to Toronto and Torontonians. . The annual check-up will be monitored through various sources and released to the community every fall: for impact within the municipal election during election years- and for consideration in agenda setting and budget development processes in off-election years as City Council and others return from summer vacations.
It is hoped that this project will:
- Expand knowledge of our community and identify granting opportunities
- Inspire funders to direct grant money to identified areas of need
- Inspire more people to become engaged in philanthropy
- Identify gaps between what Toronto is and wants to be and to help community better support initiatives which close those gaps
The overall objective is to encourage dialogue and increase civic engagement towards continued improvement in key areas of the quality of life in our city.

We look forward to working with you to achieve our collective vision of ensuring the vitality of Toronto and making it the best place to live, work, learn and grow through the power of giving.
